上海における約5000㎡の複合商業施設。 中国デベロッパーによる街区全体の再開発プロジェクト。 古い洋館と工場、既存樹木をできる限り保存・再生することをコンセプトとしてる。 既存樹木をできるだけ残すために5m×10mの小ユニットを自由に積み上げて空間をつくることを提案している。 各ユニットをずらして積み上げることで、外部空間にできる余白の空間をデザインしている。 サステイナブルでフレキシブルなユニットデザインの提案。 HMA上海と協同設計 “SQY complex” is a commercial complex in Shanghai whose building area is about 3000 square meters. It was designed as a part of block redevelopment project by a Chinese developer. The site used to be occupied by old factories and greenbelt surrounded by high-rise apartments. The client requested to preserve the existing factories and trees as far as possible. We suggested a design system to accumulate a number of box units among the trees, which is also flexible to the client’s changing requirements. Units of 5 x 10 meters large, carefully cited in relation with the trees, were connected each other as needed to satisfy functional requirements. Units set-backing and overhanging created terraces and eaves. These irregular spaces in harmony with historical trees formed a quality of exterior spaces. The most notable achievement of this project was not just inside the building, but this enriched exterior environment. It was not achieved without foresights and efforts of the developer to place top priority on preserving these trees. 16A + HMA
